Family!
I
am feeling much better and am back to working hard. I can’t stay in to long
because I go crazy! It’s funny how the mission changes you a lot more than you
think. I now always have to be doing something. I can’t just sit. When I have
free time it freaks me out because I am like I know I can be doing something!
This week we haven't been able to see Jose this week. He has been in the
hospital a lot because he suffers from depression. We have been praying for him
and hopefully this week we can see him! He has such a strong testimony of
the Book of Mormon! It’s amazing!!
This week we got a referral
from Utah for a man named Alexandro. He requested a Book of Mormon. So we
went to give it to him and he is so cool! He is an 80 year old man who loves
music!! He has so many records and cds it’s not even funny! He loves Elvis.
HA which is so funny because he is Cuban and doesn't speak any English so
I don't think he can even understand the lyrics. But he loves it just
the same. He is a mason and wants to learn more about our church. We
taught the restoration to him and he loved it! He loves the Book of Mormon as
well. We are excited to continue to work with him!
This week has just been a finding
week!! Lots of knocking. It’s been lots of ups and downs but that's mission
life :) Our plan this week is to really work with the members and help them
start bringing friends to church and family home evenings. Members play such a
big role in missionary work! I never realized that. Before my mission I went
out with the missionaries some but I did it not super willingly and I could
have been better at inviting friends to church and sharing the gospel. That’s
my goal when I get back is to be the best member possible and help out with the
missionary efforts better! Excited to apply what I have learned!
This week I was reading in Luke 12:29-34 and I love how at the end of verse 29
it says to not have a doubtful mind and that Heavenly Father will provide. In
the mission, I have lots of ups and downs. It’s so important to not have a
doubtful mind because that lets Satan win. It applies for all aspects of life. When
we start to doubt we start to lose trust in Heavenly Father that he will
provide. We need to do as Jeffery R Holland said. We need to just believe! It
was really motivating for me! My motto I came up with is “trials are just
unplanned adventures”. We just need to continue to trust and never doubt!!! :) Always
stay positive and happy! :)
Thanks so much for all you
love and support!! I miss all of you tons!!! :))) I hope you guys have an
amazing safe week!! :)
